ICEM Arthur Ellison Achievement Award
The ICEM Arthur Ellison Achievement Award is to be presented biennially (once every even years) to an individual, for outstanding sustained technical contributions in the field of electrical machines based on his/her publications and particularly those which have been published in ICEM Proceedings.
To be announced during each ICEM gala dinner.
Nomination: Nominator to send nomination form (available at ICEM website) with at least two reference letters to the ICEM Steering Committee Secretary.

ICEM Distinguished Service Award
The ICEM Distinguished Service Award is to be presented biennially (once every even year) to an individual, for outstanding services to the electrical machines community especially within the ICEM.
To be announced during each ICEM gala dinner.
Nomination: Nominator to send nomination form (available at ICEM website) with at least two reference letters to the ICEM Steering Committee Secretary.

ICEM Best Paper Award
The ICEM Best Paper Award is to be presented biennially (every even years) for up to three technical papers (in no order), for outstanding technical competence displayed in an oral paper presented at ICEM. Keynote papers are not eligible.
To be announced during each ICEM closing ceremony.

ICEM Best Poster Presentation Award
The ICEM Best Poster Presentation Award is to be presented biennially (every even years) for up to three technical papers (in no order), for outstanding technical competence displayed in a poster presented at ICEM.
To be announced during each ICEM closing ceremony.

1. Administration
All the ICEM Awards will be administrated under the umbrella of the ICEM Steering Committee which will appoint a Selection Committee for each ICEM edition. This selection committee will consist in a chair (being the Steering Committee Chair unless he/she will be in the nominees), the Steering Committee Secretary, past recipients of the individual awards (when available) and a number of Steering Committee members (no less than 3). The General Chair of the actual ICEM edition and the Technical Program Chair could be within the members. In case of conflicts of interest (any individual being in the nominees or closed to the nominees), substitutions will be performed.
This committee will select the final recipients based on the award topic and as a result of a vote. In case of tie, the Selection Committee Chair will have a double voice.

2. Eligibility and selection
Individual Awards
The ICEM Arthur Ellison Achievement Award and the ICEM Distinguished Service Award are delivered to individuals who have contributed a lot to the ICEM reputation on technical achievement basis (for the first one) and for outstanding services (for the second one). Nominators should be aware that regular and active participations to many ICEM editions will be verified by the Selection Committee. Eligible candidates should have really contributed to ICEM life and development.
The Steering Committee secretary (or a substitute in case of conflict of interest) will collect all the nominations and all the recommendation letters. All the acceptable documents will be sent to the Selection Committee Chair who will organize 2 votes among the Section Committee members. The qualities of both nominations and recommendation letters have to be accurately verified. The results of the 2 votes will be announced first to the Section Committee members and then to the ICEM General Chair to prepare the two plaques and the two certificates.
Paper Awards
All full papers submitted by the deadline are eligible for the ICEM Best Paper Award and the ICEM Best Poster Presentation Award.  The Technical Program Chair of each ICEM Conference will select 10 papers with oral presentation having the highest scores from the paper review process.  On the other hand, the same Technical Program Chair will select 10 papers with poster presentation having the highest scores from the paper review process. It is the task of the Selection Committee to accurately verify the quality of presentation of each selected paper (presentation was not scored by the reviewers). All “no show” will be eliminated from the final ranking.
The members of the Selection Committee cannot be an author of any paper being in the two lists. If the Steering Committee Chair is among the authors of any selected paper in the two lists, the Technical Program Chair of the related edition will be the chair of the Selection Committee.
Voting will be under the leadership of the Selection Committee Chair and the outcome will be based on the scores of this committee which has to verify that all awarded papers will be presented. If three suitable papers (for both oral and poster) will not be available for that specific ICEM edition, the selection committee can recommend forfeiting one to three awards for each category.

3. Presentation of awards
The ICEM Arthur Ellison Achievement Award and the ICEM Distinguished Service Award will be presented at the gala dinner of each ICEM edition.  
The ICEM Best Paper Award and the ICEM Best Poster Presentation Award will be presented at the closing ceremony of each ICEM edition.
