INTRODUCTION
International Conference on Electrical Machines, now in its 19th edition, has established itself as an
influential and recognised international event and is the only major Conference entirely devoted
to electrical machines where the community of specialists discusses the progress achieved and the
future developments in technologies, analysis, design, testing, operations, practical applications,
maintenance and teaching in the field of electrical machines.

Started in London in 1974, ICEM is now established as a regular biannual event. Very successful
Conferences were held in Helsinki (Finland) in 2000, Bruges (Belgium) in 2002, Cracow (Poland)
in 2004, Chania (Greece) in 2006 and Vilamoura (Portugal) in 2008.

In order to keep the scientific high quality of the past ICEM editions papers, the following
issues have been confirmed or established for the 2010 edition:

  • only full provisional papers may be submitted for evaluation;
  • IEEE Copyright Form and ICEM Statement of Originality will be received for each paper;
  • an On-line Conference Paper Submission System will be adopted;
  • each paper will be reviewed by at least 2 referees;
  • topics are arranged in tracks, each one having at least two co-chairs to manage the
    reviewing process;
  • Special Sessions will be organized;
  • all accepted papers will be included in the IEEE Xplore data base;
  • four awards will be conferred:
  • ICEM Best Paper Award
  • ICEM Best Poster Presentation Award
  • ICEM Arthur Ellison Achievement Award
  • ICEM Distinguished Service Award.

CALL for PAPERS for SPECIAL SESSIONS
A Special Session is a group of 6 papers, organized at the initiative of any voluntary organizer. Session topics are in areas consistent with the Conference topics.
List of ICEM 2010 Special Sessions with Call for papers are at Special Sessions – CfP
Prospective Special Session Paper Authors are invited to submit full provisional papers, previously unpublished and relevant to the Special Session topics.

WORKING LANGUAGE
English will be the working language of the Conference which will be used for all printed
material, presentations and discussions.

EXHIBITION
An exhibition of software and computer tools for electrical machines simulation, analysis and design,
is planned in conjunction with the Conference.
Manufacturers of electrical machines, drives, power electronics, measurement and control systems will
be also welcome.
This is an opportunity for attendees to examine in detail the latest developments in the field and to
discuss the available solutions.

VENUE and LOCATION
Conference will be held in Rome, capital of Italy, one of the most beautiful town in the world
and superb place to receive high quality events.

The Conference will take place at the Crowne Plaza Rome – St. Peter’s Hotel, in the
